Attending private school for the entire length of my K-12 education, I heard little of evolution until my AP biolgoy course in high school. Here I was forced to learn evolution in order to obtain those college credits when I believed in the complete opposite. Then I reached evolution's homebase, the university. SDSU's biology department is full evolutionists that think creation scientists are a bunch of religious radicals that have no place in their classes. I have no idea what it is like to be in the UC system, but I feel for you students there. Then I stumbled across Dr. Kent Hovind when he visited Horizon Fellowship off of Genesse Ave. I instantly went to their book store and copied (with Dr. Hovind's suggestion) the whole Evoltion and Creation video tapes. I was amazed at the wealth of knowledge I could use to combat the evoltionists at my school. Then I read this:
If you understand the methods of science, you can distinguish science from non-science. Recently some people have claimed that "creation science," sometimes called "scientific creationism," is a legitimate science that deserves to be taught in schools together with the evolutionary view of the world presented in this book. In spite of these claims, creation science is not science.
Science begins with observations and the formulation of hypotheses that can be tested and that will be rejected if signigicant contrary evidence is found. Creation science begins with assertions, derived from religious texts, that Earth is only a few thousand years old and that all species of organisms were created in approximately their present forms. These assertions are not presented as a hypothesis from which testable predictions can be derived. Advocates of creation science assume their assertions to be true and that no tests are needed, nor are they willing to accept any evidence that refutes them.
To reject this view of Earth's history [evolution], a person must reject not only evolutionary biolgoy, but also modern geology, astronomy, chemistry, and physics. All of this extensive scientific evidence is rejected or misinterpreted by proponents of "creation science" is favor of their particular religious beliefs.

I would also like to note that evolutionary theory is taught in the midst of good science that all science, especially biolgoy majors, need to know. My suggestion: DO NOT disrupt class (I do not like it either even though I know what you are saying is right and the professor is wrong). Debate the professors in emails, letters, conferences, or the school newpaper. Please do not keep people who paid to learn science from learning the good stuff, just find ways in which you can project the truth out there. My second suggestion, do not use the Bible until you feel they are ready to accept it as truth. Start with their own teachings and prove them wrong. It has been my experience that any evolutionist will blindly ignore you the second you quote from the Bible when debating them (remember they think the Bible is nothing but a silly religious text that reminds us of your morals).
