Dr. Berta,

Thank you for your quick response to my questions, but I find problems still in the answers that you presented. You proposed a fossil history of the transition from reptiles to mammals. I have lightly researched the fossil record and have concluded that there is no such thing. I am not alone, even from an evolutionistic point of view. Dr. Collin Paterson, Senior Paleontologist, British Museum of Natural History in correspondence to Luther Sunderland quoted in Darwin's Enigma 1988 p. 89, stated "I fully agree with your comments on the lack of evolutionary transitions in my book. If I knew of any, fossil or living, I would certainly have included them. I will lay it on the line - there is not one such fossil..." How can the senior paleontologist from the museum that has the greatest collection of fossils make such a statement if it was not true?

I also feel that your answer on my Big Bang question did not fully convince me of evolution. You stated that Einstein's theory of relativity states that space, time, matter and energy existed after the Big Bang. I will not argue that that is an incorrect statement of the theory of relativity, but that that particular statement is contradictory to the Big Bang.

The Big Bang states that all matter in the universe was condensed into a tiny sphere that was spinning extremely fast. If this ball consisted of all the matter in the universe then the theory of relativity is flawed when it states that matter existed after the Big Bang, and further would state that all those items you mentioned above would have emerged out of nothing (sounds like spontaneous generation, which we both know has been proven to be false). I do not understand this conflict of theories, one of them is wrong, which then starts to collapse the evolutionary theory all with them.

Lastly you stated that we know the earth's age by the use of isotopic dating. I have researched that these dating techniques were based on evidence proposed from the geological column. Now the geological column is proposed to be dated by the index fossils contained in each of the distinct layers. Yet, it is also taught that the index fossils are dated by the layer in which it was found. That is what I was referring to when I stated that the evidence for the geological column is circular reasoning. Even if you disagree with that, the foundation of the geological column in isotopic would prevent one from using those it to date the layers of the earth (rocks) for the same principle. Therefore I still do not see the evidence that we can prove (or even test) the date of the earth. As you can see I still am confused on how you can walk into a classroom and teach evolution to me as fact when I find so much contradiction even in the field of biology. I would appreciate if you could further enlighten me on the theory of evolution in hope that I may eventually understand it.
